How Nimuzon Works
Nimuzon is a Sri Lankan gemstone marketplace. Verified sellers list their stones and run auctions, and you contact the seller directly to buy.
- Browse gemstones from verified sellers and the Nimuzon Official Shop.
- Contact the seller by phone, WhatsApp or email to confirm the stone and agree the price, payment, delivery and returns.
- Bid in timed auctions. When an auction ends, the seller contacts the winning bidder.
- Nimuzon has no online checkout for gemstones. The only payments made on the website are sellers buying listing packages.
02

Finding Gemstones
Use the search bar at the top of every page, or open the Shop to browse everything. The homepage also has shortcuts to shop by gemstone, shape and origin.
Filters and Sorting
- Sort by relevance, price or carat weight.
- Narrow by price and carat range, gemstone type, shape, colour, clarity, origin and treatment.
- Certified Only shows stones that come with a lab report.
- Each filter appears as a chip above the results. Tap a chip to remove it, or Clear All to start over.
- Results show 24 stones per page. The page number is part of the address, so you can share or bookmark any results page.
Prices and Language
- Prices are set in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR). Choose another currency in the header to see an approximate conversion.
- Visitors in Sri Lanka also see the Sinhala name of each gemstone.
- Use the moon icon in the header to switch between light and dark mode.
04
Reading a Listing
Every gemstone page shows:
- Photos and, where the seller added one, a video. Photos carry the Nimuzon watermark to stop them being copied.
- Carat weight, shape, colour, clarity, origin and treatment.
- Price type: Fixed Price, or Negotiable if the seller is open to offers. A crossed-out price means the stone has been reduced.
- Lot: a single stone, a matched pair or a parcel.
- Reserved: the seller is holding the stone for a buyer. You can still ask to be next in line.
- Certified: the listing includes a lab report from the named laboratory.
- The seller's shop name, verified badge and contact buttons.
05
Buying a Gemstone
- 1Open the gemstone and use the seller's contact box: Phone, WhatsApp or email. Press Show Numbers to see the full numbers.
- 2Confirm that the stone is still available, and ask for more photos, a video or the lab report if you need them.
- 3Agree the final price, how you'll pay, delivery or collection, and what happens if you want to return the stone.
- 4Complete the purchase directly with the seller.
- 5After the sale, the seller can send you a private link to review the gemstone and their service.
Payment, delivery and returns are arranged between you and the seller. Read our Returns & Refunds Policy before you buy.
06
Saving Favourites
Tap the heart on any gemstone to save it, and the heart in the header to see everything you've saved. No account is needed. Your wishlist is kept in the browser you're using, so it won't follow you to another device. Signed-in buyers can also open it from Your Wishlist.
07
Bidding in Auctions
Auctions are timed sales of approved gemstones. Each auction starts and ends at a set time, which is shown with a countdown.
How to Bid
- 1Sign in with a buyer account.
- 2Open a live auction and enter your bid in whole rupees. The first bid must be at least the starting price, and every bid after that must be higher than the current bid.
- 3If someone outbids you, you get a notification so you can bid again.
- 4Track every auction you've bid on from Your Bids in your account.
Reserves and Results
- No Reserve: the highest bid wins.
- Reserve: the seller has a hidden minimum price. A Reserve Met badge appears once bidding passes it.
- An auction ends exactly at its end time. It is not extended for late bids.
- When it ends, the seller and the highest bidder are both notified. If the reserve was met, the seller contacts you to arrange payment and delivery. If not, the seller may still contact you.
- Bidders stay anonymous on the public page. Only the seller sees the winner's name and contact details, after the auction ends.
Only bid what you're prepared to pay. The seller will expect the winning bidder to complete the purchase.
08
Certificates and Lab Reports
A lab report from an independent gemological laboratory confirms what a stone is, and whether it has been treated. Stones with an attached report show a Certified badge.
- Open the report on the listing and check the report number with the laboratory that issued it.
- Make sure the weight, measurements and colour on the report match the listing.
- Read the treatment notes: heated and unheated stones are priced very differently.
Our Gem Certification page explains the main laboratories, how to read a report, and the warning signs to look out for.
09
Reviews
Reviews come only from real buyers. After a sale, the seller sends the buyer a private review link, and the buyer rates both the gemstone and the seller from 1 to 5 stars.
- You need to be signed in to leave a review, and each link works for one buyer.
- Sellers can reply publicly to reviews of their shop.
- See the reviews you've written under Your Reviews.
10
Your Account and Notifications
- Your Account collects your bids, wishlist, reviews and settings in one place.
- Settings is where you update your name, sign-in details and password, or close your account.
- The bell in the header shows your notifications: outbid alerts, auction results, answers to your questions and updates from Nimuzon.
- Have a question that isn't answered yet? Ask it on the FAQ page while signed in (up to 3 open questions at a time). You'll be notified when it's answered.

Selling on Nimuzon
1. Open Your Shop
Become a Seller and choose Individual or Business. Already a buyer? Open a shop from your account with Start Selling, using the same login.
2. Get Verified
Before your listings can go live, an admin checks your details and documents. It usually takes 1–2 business days. Add these from the verification section of your seller settings:
- Contact details: phone number, WhatsApp number and business email. These appear on your public shop so buyers can reach you.
- Individual sellers: the front of your NIC, driving licence or passport photo page. The back of your ID, a proof of address and a recent photo of you are optional, but help us approve you faster.
- Businesses: business name and tax registration number, the business registration certificate, a licence to trade gems (such as an NGJA licence), and the photo ID of the owner or a director.
- Files can be PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB each. Documents are stored privately and seen only by Nimuzon admins.
3. Choose a Listing Package
Listing a gemstone uses one listing credit. Buy credits from Packages in your seller workspace:
- Packages are one-time payments in LKR through PayHere, not subscriptions. Card details are entered on PayHere's secure page and never reach Nimuzon.
- Free packages, when offered, can be claimed once each.
- Some packages give credits that expire after a set number of days. Credits closest to expiring are used first, and your published listings never expire.
- Editing or resubmitting a listing doesn't use another credit. A deleted or rejected listing doesn't return its credit, but you can correct it and resubmit.
4. List a Gemstone
- 1Go to Add Gemstone in your seller workspace.
- 2Add clear photos (front, back and side) and, if you have one, a video link. Watermarks are added automatically.
- 3Fill in the gemstone type, carat, shape, colour, clarity, origin and treatment.
- 4Set the price, whether it's fixed or negotiable, and whether it's a single stone, matched pair or parcel. You can show a reduced price, or mark the stone Reserved while you're talking to a buyer.
- 5Upload the lab report if the stone has one, so it shows the Certified badge.
- 6Submit. An admin reviews every listing before it goes live, and you're notified of the result. Paying for a package doesn't skip this review.
5. Run an Auction
- 1From Auctions, create an auction for one of your approved gemstones. This doesn't use another credit.
- 2Set a starting price and, if you want one, a reserve at least as high as the starting price. Buyers never see the reserve amount.
- 3Choose the start and end times. An admin approves the auction before it opens.
- 4When it ends you're notified, and the winning bidder's name and contact details appear on your auctions page. Contact them to arrange payment and delivery.
6. After a Sale
12
Staying Safe
- Buy from verified sellers. Look for the green verified badge next to the shop name.
- For valuable stones, ask for an independent lab report and check it with the laboratory.
- Keep your messages with the seller, and agree payment, delivery and returns in writing before you pay.
- Be careful with prices that seem too good to be true, or pressure to pay quickly.
- Nimuzon will never ask for your password or card details by phone, SMS or email.
- If something doesn't look right, tell us.
